Skill Sessions: John Murphy/Hot Shot Ice Arena:

John Murphy in coordination with the Hotshot Ice Arena, has put together a schedule of skill sessions this summer which are available to all of our players.  These sessions are not mandatory (but encouraged).  These sessions are not to be confused with Lake Forest High School Hockey program activities.  Other players from the area will also be welcome. The cost of each John Murphy/Hotshot sessions is $25 on a pay per session basis, collected by Hotshot Ice Arena.

The schedule is broken up into 2 parts:
1) Tuesday (7:00-8:40pm) & Thursday (7:40-9:10pm)
Tuesday, June 9 through Thursday, August 13.

The format for Tuesday & Thursday sessions will be 45 min. skills and 45 min. scrimmage.  The scrimmages will be organized to match up age and skill levels and will be NO CHECKING.

*NOTE: Coach Murphy welcomes goalies to all Tuesdays and Thursdays. Goalies will get instruction during the skills session and will take the nets during scrimmages.

2) Sunday (4:30-5:30) & (6:00-7:00)
These sessions are already in place and will continue until further notice.

The format for Sunday is 1 hour of skills.  Again, the cost is $25 on a pay per session basis, collected by Hotshot Ice Arena.

The Board of Directors Welcomes John Murphy

The Board of Directors of the Lake Forest High School Boys Hockey team is pleased to announce they have selected John Murphy as the new head Varsity Coach and Directory of Hockey for the 2009-2010 season.

John has been involved with hockey since his youth when he played for the Falcons while growing up in Deerfield. Progressing to higher levels of organized hockey after the Falcons, Murphy obtained much success, which earned him tryouts with multiple NHL teams.

Over the past 24 years John has coached in local hockey organizations
including the Falcons, Chicago Young Americans, Team Illinois and the
Chicago Mission. He is also the founder of Bad Boy Hockey Camps and
currently offers private training programs for all levels. John currently lives
in Highwood with his family.

Joining John on the coaching staff for the Scouts at the Junior Varsity level will be Ryan Weber and Buddy Peters.  Under the direction of Weber and Peters
the Junior Varsity team finished with a 26-16-5 record this past year.

The Scouts will start off-season training under Murphy’s direction in June and it will run through August, with tryouts concluding at the end of August and the season starting in October. All home games will continue to be played at Lake Forest College.
