AHAI has passed a resolution that neck guards are mandatory for the 2008-09 season. AHAI requires the use of neck guards for every player at all age levels.  AHAI further encourages each player to obtain the best “manufactured” neck guard protection available to them.

Goalies need to wear a “neck laceration protection” device.  This is not the same as the device that they hang from the front of the mask for protection from shots to the throat.  They need a neck guard. The refs will make out an incident form. They will have no way of knowing if it is the coach's first, second, third or twentieth incident report - unless the same ref is doing all of your games. If there is a violation, the refs will report it to the offendingbench and to the scorekeeper and write the incident report after the game.

Here is the process for a violation:

An incident report – then a letter to the club/coach.  A second report and a letter of warning to the club/coach that the next offense is a suspension.  The third report is a letter of suspension to the coach and notice to the club.

USA Hockey Online Registration

AHAI has mandated that this year, all member organizations participate in the USA Hockey Online Registration process.  By following the steps below, you will be purchasing your skater’s USA Hockey Insurance for the 2008/2009 season.

For Online registration

  • Go to http://www.usahockeyregistration.com/

  • Select Ice Players & Coaches

  • Confirm you are 18 years or older by clicking Continue

  • Select the link for the 2008/2009 season

  • Select whom you are registering (self/child/adult) and click Continue

  • Complete the personal info

  • Read the waiver, select the “I accept” box, enter your initials and then click Continue

  • Confirm the state is Illinois and click Continue

  • Review the info and either edit or click Continue

  • Complete the credit card info and click Continue

Print the confirmation sheet twice (2), one for your records and one for Lake Forest Hockey which will be submitted with the rest of our packet (this packet will come out sometime in July). The cost of this online registration process is $43 ($30 for USA Hockey, $13 for AHAI).
