Home Ice Advantage Campaign

The Scouts have called the College rink Home Ice for decades and treasures its history. The LFHS Hockey Association fully funds its own operating costs through fees paid and fundraising activities conducted by its families, which is unique among school sports. Maintaining this facility is vital to the continued success of Scouts hockey, a program that has existed since the 1960’s.

Lake Forest College is about to undertake a major renovation of its ice rink and the Lake Forest High School (LFHS) Hockey Association has taken the opportunity to partner in the endeavor.  Representing both the LFHS hockey program and the broad array of Lake Forest residents and organizations which also use the College rink, our Steering Committee has accepted the challenge to assist in the fundraising effort.

The rink serves as Home Ice for the community – hosting Saturday morning community skating programs, annual skating races and competitions, and the LFHS Scouts hockey teams.  Every other municipality on the North Shore has a civic ice arena to serve residents.
Our goal is to renovate the facility so that higher quality programs can be provided

By assisting Lake Forest College in this fundraising effort, we can ensure Scouts hockey receives prime ice time, quality ice, and updated locker rooms.  In addition, a modern lobby area and facilities for figure and free skating will be enjoyed by all users.  Community members would also have access of other facilities at the College in ways we have never had before.
