Chris Palmer added to LFHS Coaching Staff

Chris Palmer has been hired to the LFHS coaching staff as a Varsity Assistant Coach and will be working primarily with the defenseman.  

Chris grew up in the Southwest Suburbs and played his youth hockey with Team Illinois and the Chicago Young Americans. Chris played in some of the most prestigious youth hockey tournaments in the world such at the Quebec Pee Wee Tournament representing the Chicago Blackhawks and the Mac Midget Tournament in Calgary. He was privileged enough to represent Illinois countless times at the USA Hockey National Championships. Chris attended Marist High School and graduated in 2004. After high school Chris played college hockey for two years and moved on to play professional hockey in Danville, Illinois but his career was cut short due to injury. After his career was complete, he finished his education at Loyola University Chicago with a Bachelor’s Degree in both Political Science and Criminal Justice graduating in 2010.

Previously Chris coached with the Chicago Jets organization before moving to Lake Forest in 2014 and coaching at Loyola Academy for the past six years. Chris coached the JV team to three consecutive State Championships and then moved on to coach the Loyola Maroon Varsity team. He has also coached for the Wilmette Braves and Glenview Stars as well as many hours of private team instruction.

Chris resides in Lake Forest with his wife Sarah and one year old son Nash as well as his chocolate lab Fletcher. Outside of hockey Chris is in Business Development for First American Title Insurance and owns a custom woodworking company operating in Lake Forest as well.
