FALL 2025 Update
With a couple of months into the hockey season, we have a few exciting updates to share:
- The four teams have started out strong this season:
Varsity Gold: The Lake Forest Scouts Varsity Gold team is off to a strong start and currently sits in first
place in the SHL with a 10–7 record. Junior Michael Catalano leads the SHL in points, while fellow junior
Carter Savage notched an impressive hat trick against Glenbrook North. Nate Robbins, also a junior, is
on a hot streak with two goals in each of his last two games. A major highlight of the season so far has
been defeating New Trier not once, but twice—a thrilling accomplishment for the Scouts. In addition to
SHL play, the team will travel to Buffalo, NY, to compete in the National Invitational Scholastic
Showcase.
The Scouts are led by captains Gavin Nelson and Tommy Esplin, along with assistant captains Preston
Lui, Jake Maraccini and goalie Logan Marsh. With strong leadership from senior veterans Robert Krebs,
Jack Milliman, Luke Pasquesi, Jack Rancourt, and Grady Strothman, as well as key contributions from
James Altounian, Daniel Anaya, Ezio Berrettini, Cal Eggers, Bobby Rolek, Michael Turelli, and Steven
Valenti, the Scouts are poised for an exciting and competitive season ahead.
Varsity Blue: Scouts Varsity Blue is off to a strong start with an 8-5 record in the SHL/Academic Division.
They are currently sitting in 3 rd place and are two points away from 1 st place. The Scouts have 5 players
that rank in the top 25 in points (Lawson Herbert, Graydon Rother, Edward Vedra, Brayden Milz & Aidan
Carruthers), & goalies Andrew Jones & Jude Mobile each have top 5 league save percentages!!
The Scouts are led by captains Graydon Rother, TC Weninger along with assistant captains Ed Vedra &
Josh Goldman. Other key contributors include Reid Baasen, Jack Barnes, Justin Meneely, Marcel Meyer,
Finn Moore, Wyatt Nelson, Nick Neuwirth, Will Redding & Jake Stevens
JV Gold: Scouts JV Gold is back this year with another strong start to the season! They rank first in the
Scholastic Hockey League with an impressive record of 15-1-0! Scouts JVG players claim 5 of the top 10
spots for points and goals scored among 200 ranked JV players in the league. Our unparalleled offense
combined with our relentless defense and goaltending are responsible for our 65 point goal differential!
Currently, Scouts JVG claims the #1 position among 55 Illinois High School JV teams. Let's go JVG!!
JV Blue: JV Blue has a current record of 12-0 in the IHSHL JV Silver division. The team has remained in
first place in the division for the entire season thus far. They have been playing great as a team and built
a strong bond. Coaching staff has been working hard to support player growth and development. Due
to their record, the team is being moved up to the gold division after Thanksgiving. We are looking
forward to the challenge and a great remainder of the season.
